I am a recovering alcoholic. A friend, in recovery, who grew up in a Jewish family touted the value of Jewish Orthodoxy. I had forgotten, largely, what he had talked about. Your sharing has brought alot back. Recently I have been working on a rigorous inventory and “G’mar tov” appeals to me. I also have a diploma I am trying to finish(after three years).

The way you describe and break down “G’mar”, as to ‘ripen’ or to ‘wean’ also speaks to something I read and started to practice from “Thomas Moore”s “Soul Mates”. A book on practicing awareness of the soul of any given thing. This is probably what attracts or facilitates such an attraction as I have found to “SorryWatch.
