anyway, political apologies in the US are so manipulative and vapid, the bar lowered to such great depths, that even the pessimistic and hyper-critical among us are likely to have forgotten how much further true a true apology would extend beyond the norm. true, this apology beats the average by a mile, but it still rates as a sort of damage control mission aimed at evading the real issue. thanks.
