Considering that San Francisco's Major League Baseball team came from New York, retired numbers of Hall of Famers who played for them in New York, brought its last three World Championship trophies to New York for breakfasts with New York fans who have not lost their love of the team, and that the team's elite club honors its New York roots, this New Yorker has some nerve.

But then so did another great manager of that team: Leo Durocher.

Oh, and what team is this? The Giants, of course. And they brought their World Series trophies back to New York for events, which is more than I can say for the Dodgers, who have not.

Another good thing about San Francisco? They expanded trolleybuses and trolley lines while still building Bay Area Rapid Transit. And when they had to shut down the legendary cable cars for a major overhaul, fearing the loss of tourist dollars, they began a Trolley Festival on Market Street, with historic streetcars rolling down the median. 11 of them came from Newark, New Jersey, which had just decommissioned theirs, and 10 were repainted to resemble streetcars from other American cities that gave up their trolleys. The historic Trolleys still rumble along Market Street.
