From Forgive Me, I Meant to Do It: False Apology Poems by Gail Carson Levine, illustrated by Matthew Cordell, a whole book of insincere apology poems (based, of course, on the William Carlos Williams classic) for the 9- to 12-year-old set. Paired with Joyce Sidman’s brilliant This is Just to Say: Poems of Apology and Forgiveness (which contains heartfelt AND sarcastic apology poems, and is perhaps the best poetry book for children I have ever read), this could be a lovely holiday gift for the snarky emo tween in your life.
